Surgery Care

Surgery can be a source of anxiety and stress for many pet owners. Maybe you worry about whether your pet will be well cared for, or perhaps you have concerns about adequate precautions and monitoring.

Don’t worry, our staff of compassionate, caring professionals will monitor your pet before, during, and after surgery and will take exceptional care to ensure a safe and complete recovery for your pet.

We will also address any questions or concerns you may have about surgery, including concerns about anaesthesia, pain management, or post-operative care.

Post-Surgery Care

Post-surgery, we focus on patient comfort for a quick recovery. We recommend intravenous fluid therapy during surgery to maintain good blood pressure and to help flush anaesthetic agents out of the body as quickly as possible. This greatly accelerates the pet’s recovery from general anaesthetic.

The patient is monitored closely by our experienced nurses at all times. We provide heating pads during and after surgery to keep your pets feeling warm and fuzzy. We often send your pet home with pain killers after the surgery.

If any questions arise after your pet returns home or at any other time during the post-operative period, call us on 03 9799 1479.
